Transform your Horse's Wellbeing

At Alchemy Equine Healing Arts,  I specialize in equine sports massage and holistic care to help horses relieve tension, move freely and feel more at ease in their bodies. Using a thoughtful, intuitive approach that considers both the physical and emotional experience of the horse.

Horses carry more than we often see.  Tension, compensation, past experience as well as the demands we place on them can all live in the body - affecting how they move, how they respond and how they feel day to day. The most prevalent reason for the loss of free motion is the residual muscle tightening which develops as a result of repeated strains and exertions.
The muscular system represents 60% of the horses total body weight and the system responsible for motion. The most valuable asset to any moving body is free motion.  Sports massage improves circulation, keeping the horse flexible and in doing so preventing injuries.

I offer bodywork and holistic support to help horses release tension, move more freely and feel more at ease in their bodies.  Each session is guided by careful observation, skilled touch and a deep respect for the horse as an individual.  This work is not just about muscules - its about supporting the whole horse.
Benefits of Massage/Bodywork:
  • Relieves tension, stiffness or discomfort for aging horses in need of gentle supportive care
  • Enhances muscle tone and improves circulation
  • Increases production of synovial fluid which lubricates joints
  • Improves overall well being and disposition

About Me

My love of horses began at a very young age and has stayed with me all of my life.  I took riding lessons for years and then in 2008 I became a certified  Equissage practitioner.  I have since studied Masterson Method, Myofascial release, Accupressure and the benefits of Surefoot pads. I even incorporate essential oils and reiki in my sessions.  I realized a relationship with the horse was what I wanted more than riding.  I volunteer every weekend at a therapeutic riding barn in Queens, offering my services to the horses who give so much to humans.  Spending time with horses doing massage and bodywork has brought me such joy.  And the joy is in the experience of  releasing tension in the horse, and seeing them become relaxed and renewed.  I continue to explore the field of equine bodywork to enhance the session experience for each horse.

Testimonials

“Vicki’s sessions with Esperanza have been very insightful.  This work has brought some awareness to areas of tension that she has — that I can pay attention to and work with on my own.  I see the trust that’s been unfolding with her after each session and it’s truly heartwarming   And Vicki has shown me ways to help her be healthy and happy which are attainable for us to do daily.  She is a 22 year old Andalusian mare with a bit of spice at times under saddle … and I find that paying attention to her physical tension with some simple massage techniques, she is much calmer, present, and grounded."
